Dalen is a well-versed creative with experience in graphic design and photography within the retail and insurance industries. Currently, he holds the position of a Visual Designer for Sentry Insurance in a collaborative and face-paced environment where he works on conceptualizing and designing professional, high-end graphic design projects from concept to completion for traditional print pieces to full event experiences. In his previous roles, Dalen was a Creative Photographer and Visual Designer for Foot Locker Inc. While he was a photographer, he photographed daily social content for Eastbay and Champs Sports. Before transferring to this role, he held the position of a Visual Designer where he was responsible for creating digital assets for Foot Locker’s North American family of brands. Dalen has worked with some of the industry’s largest and most influential companies within his five years of experience in the design field.
Prior to his professional career, he obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a Graphic Design emphasis from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. During his time at UWSP, he learned about designers such as Emil Ruder and Josef Müller-Brockmann and their contributions to the design industry. Dalen takes inspiration from their Swiss-style, minimal design and applies that to his design and photography work.
Outside of his professional life, Dalen is the stereotypical Wisconsinite. He has obsessions with colby cheese and Point Beer, he’s a Cheesehead by default, and he actually likes the cold. Whether it’s hunting, fishing, kayaking, you name it—he enjoys being outdoors. And yes, the muskie gets bigger every time he tells his story. Working for Foot Locker has aided Dalen’s love of sneakers. His favorite sneaker in his collection is the Yeezy Boost 350 v.2 “Zebra”. What Dalen enjoys most is coming home at the end of the day to his American Eskimo puppy named Kallik.
